The Marinelli
Museum

In Agnone, Molise, the Museum Marinelli is
one the few in the world with a large collection of bells dating from the year one thousand to
the present day, each with its own shape, ornamentation, inscription, and special sound.

Drawings, sketches, reproductions, precious manuscripts and publications, documents about the ancient art of bronze casting complete
the artistic, historical and cultural properties
of the museum. Its peculiarity is due to the
active presence in the Pontifical Foundry of the manager dr. Pasquale Marinelli and his nephews Armando and Pasquale jr., sons of the sculptor Ettore Marinelli after whom the museum is named.

The museum is an international point of reference and, at the same time, a workshop : the library, the archives, the video library, the congress hall, the projection room, all make up a breeding-ground where one can work and study the art of bells, where scholars and casters meet to debate professional training and interesting research such as the ancient origins of sacred bronzes, their various uses, the development of traditional working techniques and machinery.
