The pilot project will take place in Campania in the period going from January 2001 to June 2002.

The site of the project is the basilica of the city of Salerno. It deals with the integration of a new architectural element in an ancient site and the answers brought up in this regard.

The operation is in the hands of the Marinelli company. who must allow for the placing of a five-ton bell,
cast by the Marinelli foundry in the framework of the Jubilee Year of the Vatican.

The electronics system developed for its swinging and ringing will be taken care of by the firm Clock-O-Matic. The firm Indelec will supply the lightning rods.

This project will be financed by the City of Salerno, Church funds and a regional subvention.
